Why Chastity?

Happy Monday, Pioneers!

Sometimes it’s difficult to see why we should practice chastity in our relationships. The culture tells us that it isn’t acceptable or appealing, but in reality, it will free us to love wholly and completely.

What is chastity?

According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, chastity means “the successful integration of sexuality within the person and thus the inner unity of man in his bodily and spiritual being. Sexuality, in which man’s belonging to the bodily and biological world is expressed, becomes personal and truly human when it is integrated into the relationship of one person to another, in the complete and lifelong mutual gift of a man and a woman.”

Chastity isn’t easy, but it is certainly worth it. Ask for the Blessed Mother’s intercession, she will help you carry out this virtue.

Have a blessed week!
